and practitioners of nursing and midwifery.
The aim is to make use of metaphors,
models, and analogies where appropriate as a way of understanding biological themes linked
with health care. (There is a brief discussion of what I mean by analogy
and metaphor in the context of biology
There are two main sections:
the body - this is about the general structure and function of the
body after birth
Prenatal development - this is about development of the body before
