This resource is dedicated to students and practitioners of nursing and midwifery.
The aim is to make use of metaphors, models, and analogies where appropriate as a way of understanding biological themes linked with health care. (There is a brief discussion of what I mean by analogy and metaphor in the context of biology here.)
There are two main sections:
1 Understanding the body - this is about the general structure and function of the body after birth
2 Prenatal development - this is about development of the body before birth
I am archiving drawings I have used for teaching these topics - please click here.

This resource will be added to gradually over time, so please revisit!
